The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

STAR (Student Teams Achieving Results)

STAR offers MBA and Undergraduate juniors and seniors the opportunity to solve a real business challenge for a real company. Students develop skills in problem-solving, data gathering, analysis, executive presentations, teamwork and leadership as consultants in teams of six, guided by a faculty.

What Makes this Opportunity Unique?

All MBA and undergraduate STAR participants are actively engaged in creating innovative, data driven, actionable recommendations to present directly to the corporate partners. Students also gain deep industry exposure. It is common for participants to gain as much value from the semester-long STAR experience as an internship. Selected MBA students serve as project leaders. Undergraduate business majors and minors are given preference, and applications are considered from other undergraduate degree programs. MBAs in any dual degree program are invited to apply. Interested students apply online by October 1st for a spring semester project by sharing experiences, interests and aspirations.
